Methylcellulose Gel (1%) is MEDISCA’s newest addition to the Oral Vehicles product line. This unflavored, versatile cellulose-based gel is for general use and can be used either in combination or as a stand-alone base. With its strong compatibility profile, MEDISCA’s Methylcellulose Gel (1%) is a suitable suspending agent for both oral liquids and topical preparations. Traditionally made at the pharmacy level, this ready-to-use compounding vehicle is a time-saving option for pharmacists. Keeping patient safety at the forefront, this base has passed the USP <51> Microbial Challenge Test, with each lot undergoing USP <61> and USP <62> Microbiological Examination. Methylcellulose Gel (1%) is free from dyes, fragrances, alcohol, propylene glycol, BSE/TSE and GMO materials.

Oral Suspend Suspending Vehicle

Oral Suspend is an off-white aqueous-based suspending vehicle consisting of a blend of suspending and anti-foaming agents, and suitable preservatives. Its formulation, including its slightly acidic pH and thixotropic properties, enhances the administration of extemporaneous preparations of oral, insoluble and aqueous dosage forms, making Oral Suspend ideal for liquid compounding. For ultimate results, combine with a suitable flavored syrup in approximately equal amounts, such as Medisca's Oral Syrup or Oral Syrup, SF. Alcohol and dye-free.

Oral Mix Flavored Suspending Vehicle

Oral Mix is a conveniently formulated oral suspending vehicle used to simplify the preparation of extemporaneous dosage forms. This cherry flavored one-step vehicle brings together the suspending properties of Medisca's Oral Suspend and the flavoring agents of Medisca's Oral Syrup. Oral Mix is prepared with a slightly acidic pH and with a balance of preservatives and buffering agents to help minimize common degradation. When mixed with medicated powders and/or crushed tablets, final compounded products form elegant, flavorful, and physically stable suspensions. Alcohol and dye-free.

Lipo Cream Base

A stable oil-in-water emulsion containing a liposomal system which enables controlled delivery and biodegradability. Smooth to the touch, it is free of parabens and sensitive to salt forms of active agents.

ORA-Blend® SF Sugar-Free Flavored Oral Suspending Vehicle

ORA-Blend® SF is an aqueous-based flavored, sugar-free, oral suspending vehicle used to simplify the process of compounding oral preparations. Properties: ORA-Blend® SF is a sugar-free sweetened vehicle that consists of a synergistic blend of suspending agents that have a high degree of colloidal activity, forming a gel-like matrix which suspends particles and allow for little settling. ORA-Blend® SF is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to help reduce degradation of medicinal agents through oxidation and contains anti-foam agents to allow for vigorous shaking with minimal foam. Applications: ORA-Blend® SF combines the suspending properties of ORA-Plus ® with the flavoring and sweetness agents of ORA-Sweet ® SF, and is ideal for pediatric and geriatric suspensions.

ORA-Plus® Oral Suspending Vehicle

ORA-Plus® is an aqueous-based suspending vehicle used to simplify the process of compounding oral suspensions. Properties: ORA-Plus® consists of a synergistic blend of suspending agents that have a high degree of colloidal activity, forming a gel-like matrix which suspends particles and allow for little settling. ORA-Plus® is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to help reduce degradation of medicinal agents through oxidation and contains anti-foam agents to allow for vigorous shaking with minimal foam. Applications: ORA-Plus® retains its suspending properties when diluted up to 50% with water, flavoring agents, syrups or alcohol. Its versatility makes it ideal for pediatric, geriatric, and naso-gastric suspensions. How to Use: ORA-Plus can be used in a combination with any flavoring syrup, but it is specially formulated to complement ORA-Sweet®; combined in a 50/50 ratio.

Transdermal Pain base is a highly versatile, off-white oil-in-water PLO based cream exhibiting an increased carrying capacity for both lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs and their salt forms. This transdermal pain cream is ideal for pharmaceutical compounding of increased amounts of actives.

VersaPro™ Lotion Base

Following in the footsteps of the popular VersaPro™ Cream and Gel bases, MEDISCA has combined science and innovation to create another versatile base, VersaPro™ Lotion Base. With its smooth, fluid texture and non-greasy after feel, MEDISCA’s VersaPro™ Lotion Base is well suited for both cosmetic and dermatological applications. It offers a wide pH stability range and features a thinner consistency making it ideal for compounding higher concentrations of hormones. This unique lotion base has been clinically tested to be hypoallergenic and is free of all fragrances, parabens, gluten, mineral oils and petrolatum.

HRT Cream Base

HRT Cream Base is a vanishing white oil-in-water emulsion. Cosmetically elegant and formulated with a natural antioxidant and emollient. It exhibits great moisturizing and penetration enhancing capabilities. HRT Cream Base can be used as a standalone cosmetic moisturizer, a suitable vehicle for hormone and skin care preparations. Paraben and petrolatum-free.

VersaPro™ Cream Base

VersaPro™ Cream Base has combined science and innovation to deliver a pharmaceutically elegant product.
