ORA-Blend® Flavored Suspending Vehicle

ORA-Blend® is an aqueous-based flavored oral suspending vehicle used to simplify the process of compounding oral preparations. Properties: ORA-Blend® is a sweetened vehicle that consists of a synergistic blend of suspending agents that have a high degree of colloidal activity, forming a gel-like matrix which suspends particles and allow for little settling. ORA-Blend® is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to help reduce degradation of medicinal agents through oxidation and contains anti-foam agents to allow for vigorous shaking with minimal foam. Applications: ORA-Blend® combines the suspending properties of ORA-Plus ® with the flavoring and sweetness agents of ORA-Sweet ®, and is ideal for pediatric and geriatric suspensions.

PenDerm™ Cream Base

A white, smooth, oil-in-water emulsion exhibiting excellent emollient and vanishing properties paired with a high carrying capacity. Highly versatile, PenDerm™ can be used as a standalone cosmetic cream, or as a transdermal compounding vehicle compatible with a wide array of active ingredients. Non-irritant, fragrance and paraben-free.

Oral Syrup Flavored Syrup Vehicle

A clear to slightly tinted, cherry flavored liquid formulated to assist compounding pharmacists in the preparation of oral extemporaneous dosage forms. Oral Syrup is prepared with a slightly acidic pH and with a balance of preservatives and buffering agents to help minimize common degradation. This syrup vehicle may be used alone as a flavoring agent in aqueous solutions, or in combination with MEDISCA’s Oral Suspend to help increase the physical stability of the suspension. Oral Syrup, SF, Sugar-Free Flavored Syrup Vehicle

A sugar-free, clear to slightly tinted, cherry flavoured liquid formulated to assist compounding pharmacists in the preparation of extemporaneous dosage forms when dietary restrictions are of a concern. Oral Syrup, SF is prepared with a slightly acidic pH and with a balance of preservatives and buffering agents to help minimize common degradation. This sugar-free syrup vehicle may be used alone as a flavouring agent in aqueous solutions, or in combination with MEDISCA’s Oral Suspend to help increase the physical stability of the suspension. Contains no actives. Alcohol and dye-free.

HRT Gel Base

A carbomer based silicone-in-water gel with quick drying and rapid absorption properties. Practically odorless, paraben-free, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested.

ORA-Sweet® SF Sugar-Free Oral Syrup Vehicle

ORA-Sweet® SF is a sugar-free and alcohol-free syrup used to simplify the flavoring and sweetening process of compounded oral preparations. Properties: ORA-Sweet® SF contains no sugar or alcohol. A small amount of sodium saccharin imparts a sweet taste and a blend of citrus and berry flavoring agents increases palatability. Xanthan gum, glycerin and sorbitol contribute to texture and good flow characteristics. ORA-Sweet® SF is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to help reduce oxidative degradation of medicinal agents. Applications: ORA-Sweet® SF can be used alone or in combination with other agents. It retains its aromatic properties when diluted up to 50% with water or suspending agents. Its versatility makes it ideal for pediatric and geriatric suspensions. Directions for use: ORA-Sweet® SF can be used in combination with any suspension vehicle, but is specially formulated to complement ORA-Plus® suspension vehicle; combined in a 50/50 ratio.

This cherry flavoured one-step vehicle brings together the suspending properties of MEDISCA’s Oral Suspend and the flavouring agents of MEDISCA’s Oral Syrup, SF. Oral Mix, SF is prepared with a slightly acidic pH and with a balance of preservatives and buffering agents to help minimize common degradation. When mixed with medicated powders and/or crushed tablets, final compounded products form elegant, flavourful, and physically stable suspensions. Alcohol and dye-free.

VersaPro™ Anhydrous Base

VersaPro™ Anhydrous Base is scientifically formulated with ingredients to promote drug delivery of both lipophilic and hydrophilic APIs providing compounders the versatility they need. It also contains a combination of silicone and natural oils to provide the ideal patient sensory experience, with a soft, moisturized feel. Water activity < 0.6.

An anhydrous base designed to protect and soften extremely dry skin. May also be used to prepare water-in-oil emulsions by adding small amounts of aqueous solution.
